Kids are often overlooked when it comes to volunteering. We see their value and accept volunteers ages 12-18 to work in a Leadership Program followed by a service trip to a developing country. Our program exposes them to the problems of the world so that one day they can help create the solutions. Over the years, we have noticed we are able to make the biggest impact in these countries by teaching English. This is our main focus in every country and we mix in manual labor projects when available and cultural experiences throughout the trip.
Through home visits of the students we teach in these countries, Children’s Global Alliance gives student volunteers an unparalleled, hands-on experiences and permits them to be immersed in a completely different way of life. Our volunteers are able to witness an up close and personal example of what life is like for children and families living in poverty.
We work to build character, promote integrity, and learn the importance of accountability and communication from the moment our students are chosen every year in the fall. Each student is responsible for earning the funds required for each trip. This is not a check written by their parents. It is a well-executed fundraising plan created by each student that they are held accountable for throughout the process. They have unlimited support from their team leaders to help them reach their goals.
Please read the details for each country on our WORK to determine which trip would be the best fit for you.
We have helped thousands of children and families around the world by providing relief and support year-round through teaching English, providing meals, clothing, medicine, educational support, and working on self-sustainability projects. We have helped students in the United States by providing life-changing personal growth and leadership development, which, in turn, helps them discover what they are passionate about, learn to have compassion towards others, and to develop financial literacy through their own fundraising. We also require our students to give back in their own communities, and fully and completely assist and support them on their paths to uncovering what they are truly passionate about in their lives. In 2024 alone, we contributed 400 hours of local volunteer work and facilitated 3 service trips by selecting 35 students to participate in these experiences.
Now, more than ever, teenagers need positive programs, outlets and experiences to help navigate daily life. Our experiences not only foster positivity in their lives but they also encourage social connections and support networks, which are essential during the tumultuous teenage years. By engaging in positive activities, teens can develop essential life skills, enhance their self-esteem, and learn to navigate challenges more effectively. It’s all about creating a supportive environment where they feel empowered to express themselves and pursue their passions!
We created these experiences with the idea that our volunteers would participate in a different trip, year after year. This goal provides them a positive outlook and focus for the year far beyond other programs and has been proven to make them globally minded, more aware, and compassionate human beings.
It is important that our volunteers are physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared to handle this type of work. THIS IS HARD WORK. It is also important that our students want this experience as much as the parents may want it. If your heart and time are not fully invested in the program, it will not work. Please check in with yourself and your family, and confirm that this experience is something you all truly believe in and value. Please also make sure this is something you have time for. This program requires you to adhere to deadlines and attend 1 mandatory meeting per month. This program is elective as well as extremely competitive. Tasks and timeframes for those tasks are given far in advance, so time management issues and/or excuses will not be tolerated and unfortunately could cost you your spot on your team. Open communication with your team leader, by requesting assistance when situations arise, will always be considered and is greatly appreciated.
Our registration process is now CLOSED until the Fall of 2025 for our Morocco, Nicaragua, Nepal and Tanzania trips which will take place between June- Early August 2026. Please see below for how it generally works.

At the top of the page, under your name, please write which trip you are applying for.
Please choose any 3 of the following questions to answer within your essay:
1.What’s something about yourself or your life that might surprise others to learn?
2. What are some challenges, difficulties, and hardships you’ve overcome or are working to overcome? How can what you learned help others?
3. What gives your life meaning?
4. What’s missing from your life? From the world?
5. What do you wish you had more time to do?
6. How do you know when you’re being completely authentic? When did you last feel that way?

9. What do you love to do for others?
10. Why does giving back to the world feel important for you to do?
11. What scares you most about this experience?
12. Is your work ethic something you are proud of or is it something you are challenged by?
It is extremely important to follow directions and include all of the requirements in the essay. Our biggest piece of advice is to write from your heart. We encourage creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. Show us who you are in your essay!
Step 3- Fundraising Plan
The second page should consist of a detailed fundraising plan and ideas of how you are going to raise money to fund your trip. The plan should be broken down into monthly goals.
