What Is Children’s Global Alliance?

Children’s Global Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit program based in Vail, Colorado, and open to any teenager in the world. The organization was created in 2010 to fill the void of large-scale volunteer experiences for students ages 12-18. Our organization offers international service-learning trips and a leadership development program for students from the United States to Cambodia, Nicaragua, Tanzania, Nepal, and Morocco. Our objective is to create global minded future leaders and simultaneously give back to the world.

How We Help

Children’s Global Alliance gives student volunteers an unparalleled, hands-on experience and permits them to be immersed in a completely different way of life. Our volunteers are able to witness an up close and personal example of what life is like for children and families living in poverty.

We work to build character, promote integrity, and learn the importance of accountability and communication from the moment our students are chosen in the fall, long before they travel with us.  Each student is responsible for earning the funds required for each trip. This is not a check written by their parents. It is a well-executed fundraising plan created by each student that they are held accountable for throughout the process. They have unlimited support from their team leaders to help them reach their goals. These trips are very competitive to be a part of, this is not something you can simply sign up for.

Once a year we open the application process. Students register and then have an interview, and if chosen they become members of a team. The team works together for several months before they travel to learn about the country they are traveling to, fund-raise, gather donated supplies to bring to the children, learn the language basics,  and prepare lesson plans to teach English while in these countries. We feel that education is the best way to end the poverty cycle, so we contribute every way we can to keep to keep our students around the world in school, motivated, and inspired to keep working hard.

Meet Our Founder

This organization has been my greatest dream come true. The best part about dreams and goals is that you get to keep fostering them. There is no ceiling to what we can accomplish together. I believe wholeheartedly in the capabilities of teenagers; they are full of compassion, energy and a yearning to uncover their passions. Being able to provide them with a positive outlet to share their talents and hearts with the world and pushing them to grow in ways that seem impossible, is our ultimate goal. We are lucky enough to work around the world with people that have been given gifts and talents but very little opportunity in their lives. Our next set of goals involves creating permanent solutions in all five countries where we currently work, to help end poverty and provide these opportunities that are so critical to breaking the cycle of poverty. First stop, Nicaragua! We are currently building "Casa de Vida" a healing center for children with disabilities. Thank you for supporting us every step of the way, one day, one child at a time.

Lots of love,

Lisa Marie Provo
